Simserhof
- Work artillery of the Maginot Line
- With its 8 combat blocks and 5 kilometers of underground galleries, covering 54 hectares, Simserhof is one of the largest artillery fortifications of the Maginot Line. 860 soldiers made up its ranks.
- It won renown for its heroic resistance, while, for more than a month, assuring the protection of Bitche's smaller surrounding forts, such as that of Rohrbach-lès-Bitche(Fort Casso).
